OTF observing time estimator

Enter your OTF mapping parameters and the the following information will be calculated:

LX
(map size along x-axis in arcminutes)

LY
(map size along y-axis in arcminutes)

DY
(y-axis distance to move before starting
next row in units of the telescope beam size)

TSAM
(time between dumping spectra in a row; equals
the integration time on each position in one map in seconds)

RAMPX
(x-axis ramp size in units of the telescope beam)

RAMPY
(y-axis ramp size in units of the telescope beam)

NBREF
(number of rows to observe between references)

NCALS
(number of rows to observe between calibrations)

TSYS
(a typical T(sys) value for the frequency you will observe;
typical values are found below)

delta_f
(the channel width you want in kilo Hz)

The table below lists recommended Tsys values to estimate observating time as a function of frequency. These are typically values averaged over the transit of a source (25 < el < 75 degrees). On cold, dry days, lower values of Tsys can be achieved.
